Bhoklagyo started in 2017 because there was nowhere to order food at night in Kathmandu.
Bhoklagyo began delivering food across Kathmandu at night in January 2017, at a time when almost nothing in the city was open after 10 PM.
The idea came from the problem itself. The founders were hungry late at night, found there was nowhere to order from, and concluded that if it was a problem for them it was a problem for a lot of people in a city of millions.
A kitchen built for the night
Bhoklagyo is a cloud kitchen, which means there is no dining room, no tables and no waiters — only a kitchen, packing and riders. That is what makes late hours possible. A restaurant staying open late is paying for a room nobody is sitting in. A kitchen built for the night only pays for what it uses.

What changed since 2017
Late-night delivery in Kathmandu is no longer unheard of, and several services now advertise late hours. What has not changed is the shape of the problem: cooking at 2 AM needs staff who want that shift, riders who know the roads at night, and a menu that survives the journey.
